USC in $10.7m Deal with Ergon Energy

Utility Services Corporation Ltd (USC) has announced that its Utility
Asset Management (UAM) business has won a substantial contract with
Ergon Energy Ltd to provide asset inspection, condition monitoring,
reporting and minor defect repairs of powerline assets for which Ergon
Energy is responsible.
USC is a leading supplier of services to the Australian utilities
sector.
USC Chairman, Mr Geoff Lord said today the contract would generate
annual revenues of about $5 million. The initial contract is to
conclude on 30 June 2004.
UAM will be responsible for the planned management and provision of
routine asset inspection staff resources, training, materials and data
inputting to meet the three year inspection cycle program provided by
Ergon Energy.
Mr Lord said: ''Our group has a good track record with Ergon Energy and
this new contract will strengthen the relationship between our two
companies, giving UAM and other USC companies the opportunity to bid for
additional work''.
UAM revenues will now exceed $28 million a year, and have grown strongly
since the business joined the USC group.
UAM has more than $70 million in contracts in hand, and the Utility
Group as a whole has nearly $90 million in forward contracts.
