USC Expands Microsoft Association with New Acquisition
Utility Services Corporation Ltd and DVT Holdings Ltd have recently merged to form USC Ltd (“USC”)
8 October 2002
USC’s e-Business group has strengthened its relationship with Microsoft through the
acquisition of Xapt Australia.
Xapt is a reseller of the widely acclaimed ERP solution, Microsoft Navision Axapta.
The acquisition includes a number of Navision Axapta clients in NSW, Victoria and
Queensland, and a team of accredited Axapta consultants.
USC executive chairman, Mr Geoff Lord, said today the Xapt acquisition was
strategically important because it took the group into manufacturing IT.
“We pick up consulting and service contracts with Xapt clients and the deal will add
about $2 million a year to group revenue, at good margins,” Mr Lord said.
Xapt Australia will be integrated into USC’s e-business group through Eclipse
Computing (Australia) Pty Ltd which USC acquired in May.
The Xapt Australia acquisition is the latest of several moves that have strengthened
the relationship between USC and Microsoft.
USC has also acquired the Microsoft Great Plains business of chartered accounting
firm William Buck.
In addition, USC’s Eclipse Computing operation was recently included in the
Microsoft Business Solutions Inner Circle. Admission to the Inner Circle is granted to
only the top one per cent of Microsoft’s 4,500 Business Solutions resellers around the
world.
