UXC Wins Major Government Contract
$3 million Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing contract to implement a technology solution to support the
Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme - 26 April 2007
Australian technology services company, UXC Limited (ASX:UXC) today announced it has secured a major new project for the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) Pharmaceutical Benefits Division.
The $3 million Interactive Communications Facility (ICF) project is a major component of the systems modernisation recommendation of the Post PBAC Review Report launched in 2004.
UXC’s application development group Dytech Solutions, will design, construct and deploy the ICF to support the management of processes required for drugs to be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
When fully deployed, the ICF system will contribute to the delivery of the post PBAC Review implementation including:
- Streamlining PBAC processes to reduce time to listing for drugs.
- Provision of an online submission capability and ease of access to relevant PBS related information.
- Improvement in quality, clarity and confidence of PBAC processes
- Transparency of the PBAC processes for all stakeholders.
The solution will provide portal access to pharmaceutical companies to lodge a submission and track its progress through the process that produces the listing on the PBS. It will also support Departmental staff and other stakeholders to manage the submissions through a central and secure store of information.
“UXC has made a significant commitment to building a platform of services and solutions that align with Federal Government business needs” said Cris Nicolli, CEO, Business Solutions Group, UXC.
“Our engagement for this significant project validates our building of capability and confidence that our services model is right for Federal Government,” he said. “It follows on from our recently announced win with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the Consular Assistance Information System development.”
“Dytech Solutions who will be responsible for delivering the project has a proven track record in large scale software development life-cycle (SDLC) projects with considerable expertise in enterprise content management, workflow and collaborative web enabled solutions, which means that they are very well suited to work with the department to realise the objectives of the ICF solution,” he said.
The project has commenced and is due for completion in mid 2008.
